Little carts. Big Christmas spirit.
In Canyon Lake, a golf cart can become a Christmas tree, a sleigh or a glowing piece of holiday imagination. The Christmas Golf Cart Parade & Toy Drive turns that creativity into a night of neighborly celebration and giving.
A parade with a purpose
According to Canyon Lake Insider, the parade began in 2011 with about 20 carts. By 2025, organizers were celebrating its fifteenth edition. The POA’s 2023 photographs show how much fun a neighborhood can have with string lights, oversized characters and a little friendly creativity.
There is a generous idea behind the glow. For the 2025 edition, entrants were asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for local foster families. A cart full of lights is fun to watch; a neighborhood turning out to give makes the night mean more.
One bright night, two ways to enjoy it
Some neighbors spend weeks dreaming up a cart design and rolling into the parade together. Others bring the family out to watch the procession pass, spot familiar faces and pick a favorite display. Either way, the magic is local: the people making the evening memorable are the people who live here.
As dusk settles, the decorated carts become a moving ribbon of color through Canyon Lake’s streets. The 2023 POA photos capture the spectacle, but the best part may be how many neighbors help make it happen.
A Canyon Lake celebration
The POA describes the event as one for residents and their guests. Whether your household joins the parade or watches from the route, the evening offers a simple reminder of what makes this community feel like home: familiar faces, shared traditions and neighbors showing up for one another.
