Canyon Lake’s community garage sale: the fun starts before sale day
When garage-sale weekend returns, the neighborhood becomes a treasure hunt. Here’s how to be ready, whether you’re selling or browsing.
A good community garage sale has its own rhythm: tables appear in driveways, neighbors stop to talk, and a morning walk can turn up just the thing you didn’t know you needed. If you’re selling, the best part starts before the first shopper arrives. If you’re browsing, a little planning helps you make the most of the day.

The Canyon Lake POA listed community garage-sale weekends in both 2025 and 2026. A date for the next edition is not confirmed here. When the POA announces it, save both the sale dates and any map-signup deadline; the latter may arrive first.
Selling? Help neighbors find you
For the September 2026 sale, residents could add their addresses to an interactive map. They could also participate without a map listing, but the map helped shoppers plan their routes. For the next edition, check the current signup steps early and make sure your address and sale details are right.
Then make the driveway easy to browse: group similar items, mark prices clearly, and decide ahead of time what you’ll do with anything left over. The 2026 organizer instructions called for front-lot items to be cleared by Sunday at 5 PM; follow the cleanup time published for the next edition.
Shopping? Make a morning of it
If the POA publishes a new sale map, use it to pick a few streets and leave time for the unexpected find. Individual sellers set up their own sales, so a map spot is a starting point, not a promise about what will be on a table. Canyon Lake is a private community; visitors should follow the current guest-entry arrangements.
Hosting on another weekend?
The POA waived a separate garage-sale permit for the designated September 2026 community-sale dates. A sale on another date follows the POA’s regular rules. Check the current Community Sale page before choosing a separate weekend.
